East Cobb Robotics (ECR) was asked by a coordinator of a summer camp at Holy Family Catholic Church, Marietta, GA to do an outreach for their kids. There were about 75 children between the ages of 4 and 12. The church holds two week-long summer camps and they decided to have the second week of camp be a weeklong science week for the kids with ECR’s visit on Friday as the finale.
It was a great time had by all. Five of our students and five of our parents spent about an hour and half with kids. The kids did squishy circuit experiments, drove remote controlled robots and they experienced ECR’s t-shirt cannon.
The kids were able to hear about how the t-shirt cannon was built and how it works, they asked questions and to end our time with them they got to see the t-shirt cannon in action as the cannon shot out some ECR rubber balls that they were able run and collect. Everyone had a great time, including the ECR group and the kids went home some great memories of science, robots and East Cobb Robotics!
